There’s just no better time of year for your curb appeal than fall. Creating a porch that’s ready for Halloween and that can carry over until Christmas is always my ultimate goal when decorating for this season. I created two looks that do just so with Birch Lane!
Some people go all out with the spooky, scary for Halloween. Having two little girls and a healthy fear of scary scenes, I tend to stick with the pumpkins and black accents for the season. For example, the first option offers warm neutrals with undeniable elements of fall and touches of Halloween. The second option brings in more color with the orange and reds, which is set up to reflect the beautiful foliage this time of year. My biggest tip is to bring in some varied sizes mums and ornamental kale and grasses for a finished look.

My Fall Front Porch
This year, in every season, I’ve been leaning towards orange and rust tones. It only made sense to warm this space up with warm woods and lots of rust/orange accents.
The Seating Area
Starting with the anchor, the rockers, they add a stately accent and such a fresh touch to our space. According to my husband, they’re the most comfortable rockers he’s ever sat in. Before we had smaller frame rockers with white cushions. They were incredibly hard to keep clean and looked aged in only a few years. I was adamant about replacing them with cushion-less chairs to hopefully stand the test of time!
The Entry
With our recent renovation, we added a new wood door and it has changed the entire feel of our home. It’s so warm and inviting. Adding a neutral, earthy wreath showcases the door while adding a undeniably fall element. I always love to layer my door mats for a texture element. This time I went with a plaid indoor/outdoor rug as my base and topped with a neutral door mat.
The Finishing Touches
As I previously mentioned, live greenery always finishes any look. Fall is no exception. I love sticking with one color but a variety of size mums for a cohesive feel. I also layer the heights for depth and interest. Nothing screams fall florals like ornamental kales and grasses. I always find a way to bring in both, whether their in a simple planter on a table or mixed in a large planter with mums, the added colors and textures bring your space to the next level.
